Denial

I have been kind of ignoring the fact my dad is in Baghdad. Not watching the news or reading about people dying. We are not close, but he's still my dad right? Anyway, I got an email from mom Sunday with this in it: "Two guys from dad's unit were killed last Sunday or Monday. Roadside bomb. Four were in the vehicle, two injured and two killed. One of the guys was from Illinois and the other from Iowa. The Seabees are running patrol along the highways, not just doing construction. I can't bring myself to ask your dad if he's had to patrol. I know he's been off the base just from the pictures he's taken. Please pray for our troops. Those people over there are crazy."

Freaked me out.
